Not every wedding is one location. Sometimes it's a castle, a canal house, a city garden, and in between, the water. This format uses the saloon boat as the hinge: a ceremony or reception on board, and the rest of the day at a shoreside venue you already have in mind.

What does a wedding day on the water feel like?
Some couples already know where dinner will be. A castle on the Vecht, a canal house, a garden that means something. What's missing is the hinge, the hour when the day turns, guests are moved, the mood shifts.
The saloon boat fills that hinge. A reception with prosecco at the quay, a ceremony on board or at the shoreside venue, and then the finest transfer Amsterdam has to offer, a reception with canapés, drinks on the canals or the Amstel, while guests are carried through the city towards the dinner venue.
After dinner, the day can return to the water, or not. The party can stay ashore, or begin again on board. Either way, the saloon boat stands ready as a floating bar, dance floor or quiet journey home.

What do couples ask us most often?
From an official ceremony on board to dietary wishes, sound, accessibility and changes in guest numbers, speak directly with our planner for any other questions.

Yes, we do this often. We coordinate with the venue manager, caterer and stylist. Your wedding coordinator is the link between boat and shore.
Where can the boat moor during dinner?
Depending on your shoreside venue, we find the closest mooring point. Many canal houses and Amstel locations have a suitable jetty within walking distance.
Can we use the boat purely for the transfer?
Yes, if you only want to use the boat as a transfer between locations, the standalone-transfer arrangement is a better fit.
What if the weather turns?
The saloon boat is fully enclosed and heated. The transfer on the water remains beautiful in any weather.
Is the ceremony on board legally valid?
Yes, if the ceremony takes place on board we work with an experienced celebrant on a registered wedding ship. If the ceremony takes place at the shoreside venue, that venue typically arranges the formalities.
Can you accommodate dietary requirements?
On board we coordinate dietary needs with our own catering partners; at the shoreside venue we coordinate with the on-site caterer, so the menu stays consistent throughout.
How is music and sound arranged?
Sound equipment is available on board for the ceremony or reception; at the shoreside venue we work with the technical team on site, so there is no gap in the music during the changeover.
Is the saloon boat accessible for guests with reduced mobility?
With assistance, yes, via a gangway to the deck or saloon. Let us know in advance and we'll choose a boarding point near your shoreside venue with a level jetty.
How many months in advance should we book?
As this format requires coordination with a second venue, we recommend booking 9 to 15 months in advance.
What if the guest count changes after booking?
A maximum of 60 guests applies on board; ashore there is generally more room. Changes are discussed with your wedding coordinator, who also keeps the shoreside venue informed.
Availability
How far in advance should you book?
Peak Saturdays from May to September are typically booked twelve to eighteen months in advance. We accept a limited number of weddings per season.
