Marry in the heart of Amsterdam's historic centre: a saloon boat glides along the Herengracht, Keizersgracht and the Skinny Bridge. An intimate wedding venue for a small ceremony, drinks or dinner on board.

The Amstel River
Wider water, longer sightlines and the Amstel Hotel as backdrop. A popular wedding venue for the ceremony itself: the ship lies still, the officiant speaks, and the city drifts by around you.

The IJ and the skyline
The largest waterway by the city, with views of Central Station, the Muziekgebouw and NDSM-werf. The wedding venue for a large celebration, with room for a second ship as a dance boat.

IJmeer, Pampus and Markermeer
Beyond the city, on open water towards Muiden, Pampus and Durgerdam. A classic sailing ship under full sail as a floating wedding venue: no hall, no neighbours, just horizon.

Getting married in Amsterdam on the water, the practical details.
Can you legally get married on a boat in Amsterdam?
Yes. The City of Amsterdam permits a legal wedding ceremony on board once the ship is officially designated as a wedding venue and a registered officiant (a Dutch "babs") is present. We arrange the designation and the application with the municipality on your behalf.
What does a wedding venue on the water in Amsterdam cost?
Our complete packages cost €10,000 and include eight hours' exclusive use of the ship with crew, ceremony, dinner, open bar, styling and a dedicated wedding planner. A standalone boat within an existing wedding day, for example as a transfer or drinks cruise, is available on request.
Where do we and our guests board?
Regular boarding points include the Amstel near the Skinny Bridge, the National Maritime Museum, Houthavens, IJburg, Durgerdam, and Muiden near Muiderslot castle. We choose the quay that suits your route and guest count.
What happens in bad weather?
Every saloon boat and sailing ship has a covered, heated interior with full table seating. The wedding day proceeds as planned in the rain; only the setting shifts from deck to saloon.
How many guests fit on board?
A saloon boat seats 2 to 60 guests, a classic sailing ship 20 to 200 guests. For larger weddings we sail with two ships together, for up to 400 guests.
