15 vessels of our own. Each a floating wedding venue in its own right.
Our own fleet comprises 10 historic saloon boats, 4 classic sloops and one classic steamship, all chartered exclusively, never shared with other parties. Saloon boats are covered and heated, welcoming 2 to 90 guests for a ceremony, dinner and dance on the UNESCO canal ring, the Amstel or the Vecht. Our historic classic sailing ship De Titaan also sails out onto open water, the IJ, the IJmeer and the Markermeer, for a ceremony under sail; combined with a second vessel, an evening for hundreds of guests is possible. - What is the difference between a saloon boat and a historic classic sailing ship or sloop?
- A saloon boat is a covered, heated wedding venue with a wooden saloon, bar and kitchen on board, suited to ceremony, dinner and dancing in any season, on the UNESCO canal ring and the Amstel. A classic sloop is an open vessel for a drinks cruise, first-look or transfer in spring and summer. Our historic classic sailing ships handle both the canals and open water such as the Markermeer and IJmeer, with room for 20 to 200 guests.
- How many guests fit on board for a seated dinner and for a reception?
- Reception capacity (standing) is usually higher than dinner capacity (seated): on most saloon boats a seated chef's dinner fits around 70% of the maximum guest count, while the full capacity can toast standing. Our saloon boats welcome 2 to 60 guests, the historic classic sailing ships 20 to 200 guests, and two vessels together up to 400 guests.
- Which vessel can sail on open water such as the Markermeer?
- Our historic classic sailing ships are built for open water and sail via the IJ to the IJmeer, Pampus, Vuurtoreneiland and the Markermeer. Saloon boats and sloops remain on the sheltered canals, the Amstel and the Vecht.
- How do we choose the right vessel for our wedding?
- Guest count, the desired cruising area and the atmosphere you envision determine the choice. Your dedicated wedding planner Elise Rijkes advises accordingly on one vessel, or a combination of vessels, from our own fleet of 14.
